The House Joint Committee, established to review all concession agreements across Liberia, held its first public hearing today with representatives from Bea Mountain Mining Company.

During the hearing, it was revealed that the company failed to submit several essential documents required for a thorough review of its concession agreement. As a result, the committee requested that Bea Mountain Mining Company appear for a comprehensive follow-up hearing on Friday, March 28, 2025, at 2:00 PM.

The Joint Committee emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability in the review process, particularly regarding the documentation and compliance of concessionaires with national regulations and agreements. This review aims to ensure that all concession agreements are aligned with Liberiaโ€™s long-term economic and environmental goals.

The committee remains committed to upholding the interests of the Liberian people and ensuring that all companies operating within the country abide by the terms of their agreements.
