The House of Representatives Joint Concessions Review Committee has summoned the senior management of Bea Mountain to appear under contempt charges for impeding legislative functions.

During a hearing on Friday, Committee Chair Hon. Foday Fahnbulleh stated that Bea Mountain was instructed to provide specific information regarding its operations within the concession area.

He emphasized that the committee is committed to thoroughly reviewing all commitments made by the company to ensure that the people benefit from their resources.

Bea Mountain had earlier requested to postpone the scheduled legislative hearing from Friday, March 28, 2025, to the first week of May 2025. However, the committee denied the request and subsequently filed a motion to summon the senior management for contempt. This action follows a statement by the companyโ€™s Executive Director, who indicated conflicting statements regarding both the General Manager and Country Manager were out of the country.

The public hearing for Bea Mountainโ€™s senior management is scheduled for Friday, April 11, 2025, at 10:00 AM in the House first floor conference room.

The Fridayโ€™s hearing was witnessed by LRA, LEITI, Mines and Energy and the National Bureau of Concession (NBC).
