NIMBA COUNTY — Emmanuel Saye, 22, a suspected rapist has been arrested, charged and forwarded to the specialized Sexual Offenses Division Court of the 8th Judicial Circuit Court in Sanniquellie, Nimba County for trial, for sexually abusing a 12-year-old girl.

According to report, on March 20, 2024 Emmanuel Saye alias 2 for 50 was apprehended, informed of his constitutional rights, investigated and duly charged with gang rape and statutory rape, an act which contravened Chapter 14; Section 14.70 of the revised Penal Code of the Republic of Liberia.

A chargesheet by the Women and Children Protection Section of the Liberia National Police (WACPS) Detail in Saclepea City, Nimba County revealed that the suspect, 22, alias 2 for 50 was arrested and remanded to the Sanniquellie Central Prison for raping a 12-year-old girl based on his confession.

The chargesheet detailed that during the night hours of March 18 the survivor left her parent’s house after being caught with phone communicating in bathroom.

During police preliminary investigation, the victim narrated that on March 18, 2024 at night hours she took her mother’s cellphone in the bathroom and called Ekieson Nyonton to informe him that some boys were smoking drugs in their community.

She further explained that after her mother caught her communicating, and intended to beat on her, one of her uncles (Abraham) told her to go in.

According to her, while in the room she decided passing through the room’s window to get outside, where she visited her friends, Alinta, and Nana/ Mercy Harris along with some boys in the night club on the Airfield Community highway, and they drank liquor.

The survivor told investigator of WACPS/LNP Saclepea that suspect Emmanuel Saye alias 2 for 50 bought power plate drinks, mixed with alcohol and served it on her. She added that after drinking the liquor, she became very drunk, something which she said the suspect took her to his friend’s room and had sex with her for more than four different times that night.

The victim lamented further that the 22-year-old defendant forcedly abused her, and covered her mouth while having sex with her. She also stated that the next morning after the incident, she observed bleeding and severe pain in both her vagina and stomach.

The police CSD/WACPS’ preliminary investigation meanwhile confronted Emmanuel Saye alias 2 for 50, which he admitted to the commission of the act against the survivor.

In his voluntary statement to police, Suspect Emmanuel Saye confirmed that on March 18, 2024 at night hours, he came across his friend’s girlfriend along with the survivor in a night club where they drank liquor and got drunk.

In the aftermath, according to the suspect he took the victim home, slept with her in a room along with his friend and girlfriend and he had sex with the victim who previous engaged him that she wanted sex.

The police of the Women and Children Social Protection Section’s preliminary investigation however charged the suspect, 22, alias 2 for 50 for statutory rape and gang rape against a 12-year-old survivor and remanded him to the Sanniquellie Central Prison waiting trial by the specialized Sexual Offenses Division Court responsible for the trial of atrocities against women, girls and children in Nimba County, Republic of Liberia.
