The Liberia Football Association women development program is said to be drawing more concern and gradual support from the public.

The latest support to the Liberia Football Association for the female team came following the team’s impressive form on the continental and international scene respectively. 

The performance of the Liberian female team of recent shows the vision the current administration of the Liberia Football Association under its President Mustapha Raji and his crack Team has to help further  improve the sector. 

On Tuesday May 28, 2024, a non political group Under the umbrella, Original Country Man ” OCM Movement very impressed about the fast growth of women football development in Liberia under President Raji’s administration saw it prudent to identify with the women’s team of Liberia. 

As a sign of support and motivation to the girls, The OCM Movement donated a cash of 200,000 Liberian Dollars and 25 bags of rice to the Liberia Football Association as contribution to the women’s Under seventeen  team of Liberia ahead of their June 9, 2024 clash with Nigeria.

The donation according to OCM Movement is their way of motivating the girls to do more for Liberia and their career.

“We believe in making Liberia great again as our code states, the best is yet to come if we all strive to make Liberia great”, Tonia Gibson  added.

Mr. Gibson hailed officials at the Liberia Football Association for spending more time with the girls to help develop their game.

“We are impressed with your level of work done thus far and we will further work with you in the future,”  he assured the LFA.

According to him, his boss, Dr. Thomas Nimene Tweh takes keen interest in the work done for the girls at the LFA and the Country in general. 

Receiving the donation, the President of the Liberia Football Association Mustapha Raji flanked by the third Vice President for women football Jodi Seton said Liberian girls over time  have shown great potential and ability as their determination to grow and develop further is positive, he added.

Mr. Raji commended OCM Movement for their donation and call on others to follow suit

He told the OCM Movement through Mr. Gibson that the LFA will  continue to work to ensure that the dreams and talents of the girls are realized and improved for the betterment of the Country. 

” These girls are the future of our National team and the future of women Football as such , they need to be supported and motivated”, he added.

The LFA President stressed that support to the girls and National teams of Liberia respectively are very key and needs to be taken seriously by the public. 

” Your little or whatever support can make a big difference “, he re-emphasized. 

President Raji who at the same time appreciated Representative Moima Briggs Mensah for her support to the girls team of USD$ 200.00, used the occasion to rally other Liberians and companies to do the same for Football in Liberia. 

“Let’s follow the good examples of OCM Movement and Bong County Representative Mensah to further motivate our girls to do more “, he noted.

Meanwhile, preparations are sais to be in the making ahead of Liberia’s match with Nigeria on June 9, 2024.
