-Morlu part ways with the CDC

To prioritize neutrality and advocate for a new day in Liberia, Mulbah K. Morlu has resigned from the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC). Morlu, who served as National Chairman for the party, is the Chairman and Lead Advocate of the Solidarity and Trust for a New Day (STAND), a non-political civil society organization dedicated to eradicating impunity in Liberia.

“I am writing to inform you that a cross-section of the Liberian populace has chosen me as Chairman and Lead Advocate of the Solidarity and Trust for a New Day (STAND).”

Morlu resigned in February of this year as Chairman of the former ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC). Thereafter, he launched Solidarity and Trust for a New Day (STAND) in March.

STAND aims to create a future for Liberia free from injustice, corruption, poverty, and hunger, utilizing the country’s abundant natural resources for the benefit of all. Morlu expressed his commitment to upholding the highest ethical standards in his new role to ensure that STAND’s actions remain impartial, moral, and nonpartisan.

Morlu: This opportunity requires that I devote my entire being to these noble causes which, I believe, hold the promise for a brighter future; notwithstanding, it also demands that I uphold the highest ethical standards to ensure that our actions remain impartial, moral, and nonpartisan. Towards this end, I hereby tender my resignation from the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) effective immediately.”

In his resignation letter to the National Executive Committee of the CDC, Morlu thanked the party for their support during his tenure and extended an invitation to his supporters and the larger society to join him in his civil society initiatives.

“I wish to express my heartfelt gratitude to the National Executive Committee, and particularly to the esteemed members of the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC), for their unwavering support over the years while I diligently served in various capacities, including National Chairman,” he said.

He emphasized the importance of working together to build a brighter future for Liberia.
“Finally, I extend an open invitation to my numerous supporters, well-wishers, and admirers, as well as the larger society, to join me in my civil society initiatives as we work together to carve out a brighter future for our common patrimony.”
