-Condemn Father’s Action

GBARPA TOWN, NIMBA CO.— The biological children of a 35-year-old woman who was gruesomely murdered through gunshot in Gbarpa Town have condemned in the strongest term the alleged act perpetrated by their father identified as Emmanuel Gboe.
The five biological children of victim Kou Dolo and suspect at-large, Emmanuel Gboe commonly known as ‘Sokarte’ are calling for justice, appealing to the national government through the Liberia National Police Inspector General, Gregory Coleman to ensure a vigorous search warrant, arrest, and subsequent prosecution of their father.
In Gbarpa Town, Nimba County District 3, Emmanuel Gboewho is in his 40s on Monday, July 29, 2024, shot his wife, Kou Dolo, 35, inside their bedroom with a single-barrel gun resulting in her death.
The suspect at large, according to the children and some family members earlier had arguments with the deceased based on jealousy of extramarital affairs, including the victim’s refusal to buy him July 26 clothes. After killing her, suspect Emmanuel Gboe fled the scene while the victim’s lifeless body was found and reported to the town chief who later informed the police.
At the same time, the General Police Commander of NimbaCounty, Laramie Mendin has launched a citizen manhunt warrant against the murderer for brutally killing his wife with a single-barrel gun. A statement issued by the General Police Commander stressed that communication and photos of the alleged suspect are shared among law enforcement agencies and boarders in Nimba County and around the Republic of Liberia, ordering a general arrest for Emmanuel Gboe commonly called ‘Sokarte’.
Police said evidence has been sent across the country, and the investigation is ongoing. But speaking to WomenVoicesNewspaper Correspondent, the firstborn of the victim and the suspect, Darlington Gboe expressed his frustration and the action exercised by their father who is now on the run.
He stressed that only justice will make them recover and restore hope for a brighter future, calling on the Justice Ministry to arrest and bring their father to face the full weight of the law. He added that their father should be made to face the consequences of his actions and must not go with impunity.
Darlington stated how impactful their mother was to them, as a caring mother who usually strived to sponsor their education. He stated how he and his sisters and brother are left lonely without hope of getting a mother like the deceased, negatively impacted by the embarrassing circumstances causing their mother’s untimely death.
Commenting on the prevailing issue leading to his mother’s demise, Darlington said he felt shocked, noting that as firstborn to his parents, he has not heard any confusion in their relationship to cause her any pain as such. He said, his late mother has not over the years in her relationship suffered any form of attack even been beaten from their father.
According to him, he is still yet to understand reasons, if any, why his father who is now on the run would choose to brutally kill their mother. Darlington Gboe however wants the national government through the Ministry of Justice to intensify the ongoing manhunt warrant and arrest of Emmanuel Gboecommonly called ‘Sokarte’.
Meanwhile, Darlington Gboe, the oldest son of the victim wants justice after their 35-year-old mother was shot and killed last week. Kou Dolo, whose life was tragically cut short on Monday, was described as a ray of sunshine. “Very strong individual, beautiful inside and out, supportive mother. She was loved by too many people.” Darlington said.
