-With Leading Turkish Firm AS GRASS

Monrovia – Football Club Fassell, one of Liberia’s most ambitious and forward-thinking football clubs, has officially completed the first critical phase in the construction of its new state-of-the-art stadium, following the successful soil testing conducted by AS GRASS, a leading Turkish construction company renowned for its expertise in building high-quality sports facilities.

This milestone marks the beginning of what will be a transformative project for both the club and the nation’s football infrastructure. The stadium, which carries an estimated investment of USD 4.5 million, is set to become a beacon of football excellence in Liberia and beyond with a total seating capacity of estimate 5,000 but will start 3,000 in the phase one.

“This is not just a stadium; it’s a statement of intent,” said Cassell Anthony Kuoh, CEO & Present  of FC Fassell. “Our vision is to create a world-class facility that not only serves as the home ground for FC Fassell but also elevates the standard of football in Liberia. The completion of soil testing by AS GRASS is a critical first step in making this dream a reality.”

AS GRASS, headquartered in Istanbul, Turkey, brings a wealth of experience to the project, having constructed numerous indoor and outdoor astroturf pitches across Turkey and internationally. Known for their innovative approaches, meticulous attention to detail, and adherence to FIFA and UEFA standards, AS GRASS is well-equipped to deliver a stadium that meets the highest global standards.

The soil testing phase, a crucial component in the construction process, involved a comprehensive analysis of the ground conditions to ensure that the stadium’s foundation will be robust and durable. This phase is pivotal as it determines the viability of the site and guides the subsequent stages of construction, including the installation of the foundation, frame, and terracing of the stadium.

The upcoming phases of the project will include the preparation and set-up of the site, excavation, and the laying of foundations. Once these foundational elements are in place, the construction of the stadium’s frame, terracing, and roof canopy will follow, transforming the site into a visible structure that reflects the club’s ambitions.

With the 2024-2025 football season approaching, FC Fassell is not just preparing for competition on the field but is also laying the groundwork—literally and figuratively—for a future where the club’s facilities match its aspirations.

The new stadium, when completed, will serve as a multi-functional sports complex, featuring a full-sized football pitch built to FIFA standards, modern seating arrangements, and state-of-the-art amenities that will cater to both players and fans alike. The venue is expected to become a hub for football activities in Liberia, hosting national and international matches, as well as community events. “This project is a cornerstone of our long-term strategy to enhance football infrastructure in Liberia,” added Kuoh. “We are building not just for today, but for the future of football in this country.”

FC Fassell’s commitment to excellence is mirrored in every aspect of this project, from the selection of AS GRASS as the construction partner to the meticulous planning and execution of each phase. The club is confident that this new stadium will set a new benchmark for football venues in the region.

The construction is slated to begin shortly, with an anticipated completion date that aligns with the club’s vision for the future. As the project progresses, FC Fassell will continue to update fans and stakeholders on key developments.
