The Collaborating Football Stakeholders (CFS), made of the country largest opposition bloc is expected to choose it ticket head this Saturday, September 7, 2024 to take on President Mustapha Raji in the 2026 Liberia Football Association election.
Ahead of the selection process which includes stakeholders perception survey (SPS) and a primary, Stages Queens CEO, Chris Geeply Weah and FC Fassell Owner Cassell Anthony Kuoh have openly declared their intentions to lead the collaboration to take on Raji and his supporters.
Football pundits believe that there will be skepticism over the survival of the collaboration in the wake of the selection if the losing candidate does not agree with the result.
“We are pleased to inform you of an important collaboration meeting involving Chris and Cassell, scheduled for Saturday, September 7, 2024. The purpose of this meeting is to decide on the head of the team and other key positions as we prepare for the upcoming Liberia Football Association (LFA) election” release from the collaboration is quoted.
According to them, the early announcement is crucial to establishing a strong working relationship within the team as they look ahead to the 2026 LFA election.
The release is quoted that there will be joint press conference following the decision to officially announce the team composition and strategy moving forward.
However, in a phone conversation with both frontrunners, they agreed to support whoever wins the ticket for the common good of football.
“We entered into the collaboration with an intention that we should work together to restore the better days of football in Liberia and that we do not betray the trust of the stakeholders and football lovers” they said in one voice.
Meanwhile, the Liberia Football Association next Elective Congress will take in April of 2026 wherein, stakeholders will be allowed to elect a new president, Vice presidents and Executive Committee Members or continue with the current group of people.
