September 28, 2024 – Montserrado County, District #8 – In a gesture aimed at enhancing healthcare accessibility, Representative Prince Toles of Montserrado County’s District #8 has donated an ambulance to the Soniwene Clinic. This initiative is part of his ongoing commitment to improve medical services within the district and across Montserrado County. In addition to the ambulance, Rep. Tole also contributed LD$60,000 to support local marketers in the Soniwene community as part of his women’s empowerment initiative.

During the donation ceremony, Rep. Toles emphasized that the ambulance aligns with the commitments outlined in his manifesto during the 2023 elections. “This ambulance is a lifeline for the residents of District #8 and neighboring areas, ensuring that emergency medical services are readily available when needed,” he stated.

The lawmaker reiterated his belief that ambulance services should be equitable and accessible to all citizens, underscoring that no one should face discrimination in receiving essential medical care. He urged the community to remain patient, assuring them that more donations and support are on the way by 2025. “This is just the beginning,” he remarked, noting that this is the first donation made to the Soniwene Clinic.

Rep. Toles also announced plans to establish a District Development Council to spearhead further developmental initiatives. He assured the community that his office would take responsibility for the ambulance’s fuel needs, ensuring it remains operational for those in need.

Ibnyasin Duoko, the Mental Health Supervisor of the Center Monrovia Health District, commended the lawmaker’s donation, highlighting its potential to inspire other lawmakers and contribute to President Joseph N. Boakai’s developmental agenda. “This is the first time Soniwene Clinic has received such a generous donation from an individual, and it is warmly welcomed,” Duoko stated. He stressed the importance of using the ambulance for its intended purpose and ensuring that citizens do not have to request fuel for its operation, as that would undermine its intended use.

Duoko encouraged the community to rally around Rep. Tole to foster a safe and healthy environment in District #8. Mada Irane Sherman, the Officer in Charge of the Soniwene Medical Facility, expressed her gratitude for the donation, stating that the ambulance has brought hope and joy to the residents of District #8 and beyond. She urged citizens to adopt a proactive approach to health, encouraging them to communicate with the Soniwene Medical Center during health crises.

Sherman also highlighted the importance of maintaining the donated ambulance and noted that discussions regarding its upkeep have already taken place with the medical head at the County Health Office. She called on the national government for support in maintaining the ambulance to ensure it remains functional and safe for regular operations, especially given the current security challenges in the area.
