-Ahead of the observance of the International Day of the Girl Child
Liberia โ In an effort to empower young girls and boys with crucial knowledge about sexual and reproductive health, the Jewel Starfish Foundation (JSF) officially launched its Comprehensive Sexual Education (CSE) Manual at the JJ Roberts High School in Sinkor.
This event coincides with the International Day of the Girl Child, celebrated annually to highlight the challenges girls face and to promote their rights.
The CSE Manual is designed for students in grades 4 through 12, aiming to equip them with the necessary tools to make informed decisions regarding their sexual and reproductive health.
Following the launch, the JSF team took their initiative to the Muslim Congress High School in Central Monrovia on October 10, 2024. In the morning session, they introduced the CSE Manual, providing an overview of its content and structure to eager students. Later that afternoon, the team continued their outreach in Nyehn, Todee, where they engaged with more students on the vital topics covered in the manual.
JSF-trained volunteers led discussions on key subjects such as consent, reproductive health, menstrual hygiene, and sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR). These sessions aimed to foster an open dialogue among students, encouraging them to ask questions and share their thoughts in a safe environment.
