Veteran Liberian journalist, advocate and humanitarian, Ambassador Maxson S. Kpakio, has received the Lifetime Achievements in Humanitarian Cause and Journalism Award at the second edition of the Liberians Excellence Achievers and Global Stars (LEAGS) Awards 2024, held in London, over the weekend.
Based in the United Kingdom, LEAGS AWARDS is an organization that recognized & honors excellent achievers, leaderships & entrepreneurial spirits of individuals, business associations, organizations, and philanthropic institutions within Liberia and the Global communities.
LEAGS says Ambassador Maxim S. Kpakio earned his spot among a list of Liberians drawn from diverse backgrounds of specialization to include; leadership, governance and policy, business and Human Rights Advocacy for his services to social justice, peace and advocacy over the years.
It is also stated that the Justice Forum Liberia former Executive Director exemplified excellent leadership and humanitarian services, in and out of Liberia, as well as dedicated commitment to advocacy for human and people’s rights ensuring the rights of people are respected irrespective of their status, association, and/or race.
The award also featured individuals from diverse sectors including; Governance/Leadership, Entertainment, Human rights, Education, and Business that possess credible opinions on personalities, organizations and brands across multiple industries.
Known for his rich history in humanitarian services, and advocacy in Liberia, Amb. Kpakio has led several advocacies challenging authorities to institute measures and/or actions for equal space for everyone. Notably, Amb. Kpakio led advocacy against the mysterious death of Odell Sherman, Giftee Larmah, and the three missing boys, and many others.
The recognition of Ambassador Kpakio among the list of reputable and moral discipline individuals; has set him apart from fellow advocates – celebrating his contributions to social impact, and helping to transform the odds in Africa oldest nation by positively impacting lives without causing controversy.
Ambassador Maxim Kpakio, is also noted for his exemplary goodwill gesture to the less fortunate, disadvantage, physically challenged, and needed throughout the borders of Liberia and beyond. His recent intervention accounts for his decision to sponsor a teenage student, Tiffani Peters, in Nimba County.
Oftentimes, there has been debates surrounding the selection criteria of recipients of these awards. Surprisingly, pundits have congratulated the organizers for selecting Amb. Kpakio for the prestigious crown.
They maintained that the former Justice Forum Liberia Executive Director was the perfect pick for the accolade, and his selection gives hope to hundreds of uprising activists, humanitarians, and philanthropists.
