Bong County District #6 Representative Moima Briggs Mensah has extended her support to pastors and elders in Salala District by donating over 250 bags of 25kg rice and LD$ 465,880 in preparation for the Christmas and New Year celebrations.

This donation reflects Rep. Mensah’s commitment to uplifting the community, particularly those who play pivotal roles in fostering spiritual and social strength. Pastors and elders, who serve as vital links between the community and the divine, were recognized for their contributions to the district’s well-being through prayer and guidance.

Each pastor and elder received a 25kg bag of rice and LD$ 500,000 to help support their families during the festive season. Rep. Mensah emphasized the importance of kindness and community spirit, encouraging citizens of Salala to embrace generosity and positivity.

“Let us not dwell on negativity but rather support one another during these joyful times,” she stated, highlighting her ongoing efforts to empower the residents of Salala District.

In addition to her recent donations, Rep. Mensah has initiated various empowerment programs aimed at enhancing the livelihoods of women in the district. Over LD$ 1 million, along with 100 plastic chairs, motorcycles, hoes, and 10 cutlasses, has been distributed to women from two clans, promoting entrepreneurship and self-sustainability. The remaining two clans are eagerly awaiting similar opportunities.

The pastors and elders expressed their gratitude for Rep. Mensah’s thoughtful gesture, acknowledging her consistent support for the community. They noted that her frequent surprise gifts and initiatives demonstrate her dedication to the welfare of Salala District, affirming that her leadership is a blessing.

On a somber note, Rep. Mensah also paid her respects to families who lost loved ones during a tragic incident on December 26, 2024. At a memorial service held in Totota, she urged the community to remain strong and to continue praying for one another in these challenging times.
