Liberia — The Coalition for Democratic Change – Council of Patriots (CDC-COP), a political civil rights movement in Liberia, has announced what it termed as “a transformative Special Convention” scheduled for this January in Sinje, Grand Cape Mount County. Under the theme “Rallying the Nation Through Robust Patriotic Actions for Liberia’s Redemption,” the CDC-COP says this convention is set to mark a significant turning point in its history.
Ahead of the convention, the National Executive Council has tentatively dissolved all existing leadership positions. The movement says this l move accentuates its commitment to rejuvenating its mission and advancing a shared vision of democracy, equity, and justice for all Liberians.
“We are excited to embark on this journey of democratic renewal,” stated a spokesperson for the National Executive Council. “This convention is not just about leadership changes; it is about reaffirming our dedication to the people of Liberia and ensuring that our movement is guided by those who embody our core values.”
The CDC-COP is calling on all dedicated Patriots with strong moral character and a commitment to public service to seize this unique opportunity to contest for leadership positions and help shape the future of the movement. Interested candidates are encouraged to register their candidacy with Karn B. Sherman, who has been appointed as the Special Convention Coordinator.
“This is a defining moment for CDC-COP,” Sherman said. “We are inviting all members and supporters to join us in this pivotal process as we work together to protect and uplift our nation.”
