Monrovia, Liberia – The Press Union of Liberia (PUL) will release a comprehensive policy document today, Tuesday, March 18, 2025. The document will outline guidelines for the professional registration, accreditation, and accountability of journalists, media practitioners, and media institutions across Liberia.
The official launch will take place at 10 a.m. at the PUL Headquarters on Clay Street in Monrovia. The event marks the first such policy initiative in the Union’s recent history and is expected to draw journalists, media professionals, and communication practitioners from across the country.
During the press conference, the PUL will announce the official start date for the registration and accreditation process, a long-awaited move aimed at standardizing media practices and promoting accountability within the industry.
Additionally, the Union will unveil key activities leading up to this year’s World Press Freedom Day celebrations. These efforts will include fundraising initiatives to address an inherited debt of US$28,722 and to support the construction of the PUL Headquarters.
