The World Expo 2025 officially opened in Osaka, Japan on April 13, 2025, with Liberia fully participating amongst 164 countries. Crown Prince Akishino, who is the honorary President of Expo 2025, performed the opening ceremony by placing his hand over the activation panel to open the World Expo 2025.

The event which runs from April 13 to October 13, 2025, opened with more than 10,000 people singing Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony to celebrate the start of the 6-month global event. Liberia is an elected member of the 26 countries Steering Committee of the World Expo 2025. The Nation is represented by its Commissioner General, Queen Ambassador Juli Endee along with hundreds of Liberia’s entrepreneurs who fully participated in the opening ceremonies of the World Expo 2025, OSAKA, Japan.

According to reports from Osaka, Japan, Liberia exhibited an intriguingly designed and innovatively decorated pavilion that is housed in a shared building called Commons C, alongside more than 25 other countries supported by the Assistance Program.  This historic pavilion serves as a hub for cultural display, investment opportunity, business engagement, showcase of women’s participation, and national rebranding, which will provide visitors with insights into Liberia’s rich cultural heritage and future-focused initiatives.

The pavilion features a forest-inspired design with wooden animals, tribal masks representing the 17 ethnic groups, traditional samba drums, and a 104-year-old bronze antique symbolizing the legacy of a renowned king and his empire. Liberia’s pavilion also highlights the nation’s rich natural resources, offering visitors a glimpse into Liberia’s tropical rainforest, vibrant cultural heritage, and diverse investment and business opportunities.

At the same time, the month of August 2025 has been selected as the month for Liberia to exhibit and showcase its activities, beginning with August 24, 2025, which will focus on gender equality, women’s empowerment, and business opportunities for women in Liberia.

August 25 will be a Musical performance by Liberian musicians following the Women’s Forum. Comes August 26, the main National day for Liberia will witness the Official celebration of Liberia’s participation, featuring high-profile guests, networking, bilateral & multilateral meetings, and cultural performances.

August 27, 2025, according to the schedule, will be the Business and Investment Forum, a   Platform for Liberian businesses to engage with international investors and partners. On August 28 will witness another breathtaking Showcase of Liberian music, art, and dance, and will highlight the nation’s rich cultural diversity.

President Joseph Nyumah Boakai is expected to speak on Liberia’s National Day, The First Lady of the Republic of Liberia Madam Kartumu Yarta Boakai, H.E. Sara Beslow Nyanti, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mrs. Snyleseh Stephenie Dahn-Koung, the Second Lady of the Republic of Liberia and Madam Ellen Johnson Sirleaf – Former President of Liberia, are also expected to speak during the month of August.

Meanwhile, the report says all members of the Liberian delegation to Japan safely arrived in Osaka, Japan under the leadership of Ambassador Queen Juli Endee, Commissioner General of the Liberia World Expo 2025, Osaka japan.
