Telia Urey says UP political ideology is toxic, divisive, and outright ridiculous.

Telia Urey, the daughter of the Political Leader of the opposition All Liberian Party (ALP), says in the pending elections, her passionate and committed support will go only to a presidential candidate or party she believes is best for Liberia, void of fear over what she sees as Unity Party’s “FALSE narrative” that those against them are against the country.

In a Facebook post on Thursday, July 27, 2023, she narrated that her decision will be backed by a huge confidence, she will not be intimidated by any group of people either.

“In the October elections, I will support whoever I believe is best for Liberia. I fear nobody and will not be intimidated by any group of people either,” she said.

Also, she stated that, “This FALSE narrrative that ‘if someone doesn’t support UP, they are going against the country’ is toxic, divisive, and outright ridiculous”.

Moreover, the one time Montserrado County District #15 representative aspirant urged supporters of the Unity Party to strategic a stronger campaign plan and message if they are serious about winning the pending election, rather than their current trend.

“I advise my friends to develop a more strategic campaign plan and message if they are serious about winning this election. Parties and leaders EARN trust and support, they don’t DEMAND and feel ENTITLED to it. We are too advanced in our thinking to subscribe to this,” she urged.

According to her, “Nobody’s mistakes or bad choices will be my bondage. I will support a team that my conscience tells me is best for Liberia in the short and medium term. Not a team or train that has LOST its direction. Period!”.

In addition, Telia Urey encouraged Liberians to be careful about how they decide on who to lead the country after October 10, as she believes the pending election is certain crucial.

“You all can insult, whine, or cry under my post. I will not be shaken or deterred from speaking the truth. This election is too important to us. WAKE UP LIBERIANS!” she urged.

With this, and several other reactions from the All Liberian Party (ALP), many have had concerns as to who amongst the possible winners they will support in the pending elections, judging that they have not had a good relationship with Mr. Cummings, and they recently debunked holding talks with the ruling CDC.

Recently, the All Liberian Party (ALP) strongly refuted claims made by certain media outlets alleging that their political leader Mr. Benoni Urey, held a meeting with officials of the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) at Boulevard Palace Hotel.

In a statement dated Wednesday, July 19, 2023, the ALP categorically asserted that these reports are entirely false and without any basis in truth.

“The ALP, under the principled leadership of Hon. Benoni Urey, maintains transparency and integrity as the cornerstones of our political activities. We stand committed to upholding the values of honesty and accountability,” the release revealed.

Furthermore, the All Liberian Party says it is grateful for what they termed as the show of support and recognition it has received from several other political parties seeking our collaboration in the forthcoming general and presidential elections.

“As a democratic institution, we value the opportunity to engage with other political parties and explore potential alliances that will benefit the people of Liberia”.

The Party maintained that it remains committed to forging new partnerships based on shared values and mutual respect.

“The All Liberian Party, as a recognized political entity, reserves its right to engage and be engaged by other political parties in a democratic spirit. We firmly believe that constructive dialogue and cooperation between different political forces can foster national progress and development”.

Moreover, the ALP says it remains dedicated to its mission of promoting the welfare of the Liberian people and working towards a prosperous and inclusive society. We call upon all citizens to stand united in the pursuit of a better future for Liberia.
