VP Taylor acclaims Pres. Weah, assures her fervent support to his reelection.

As an acknowledgement for his indescribable commitment to women’s involvement on the national scene, Vice President Jewel Howard Taylor has venerated President George Weah, and accordingly guaranteed her unmeasurable support to his reelection.

While the political atmosphere gets interesting on a daily in Liberia, the Vice President’s commitment was made on Thursday, August 10, 2023, when she joined the President and supporters of the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC), in Montserrado County, District #10.

Passionate in her deliberation, and enraged in an exuberant mode, VP Taylor acclaimed the President for his unwavering interest towards women empowerment, and how this has been demonstrated by him before and since his ascendency to the Presidency.

As a visible indication, she emphasized that said commitment can be seen through the appointments of women in strategic government positions, and how the President has also supported scores of other women in their endeavors to the national legislature.

“Thank you for lifting the hands of women long before today, you have been on the forefront since you got into politics. Even when you didn’t win, you made sure that women won, so I know how important women are to you.”

Despite their educational status, or their position in society, Vice President Taylor noted that the President is passionately concerned about all women. ‘If you had not given me the chance to be your vice President, Mr. President, I would have not been the first female vice president of the Republic of Liberia. I’m totally grateful, whatever you need, you have my 100 percent commitment,” she guaranteed her dedication to the President’s reelection.

With this, she has vowed to vigorously campaign for himthroughout the length and breathe of Liberia, with a clearmessage that he is a genuine leader, a leader with vision and he’s committed to transforming the country.

Furthermore, the Vice President attested to the President’s love for Liberia and Liberians, and what he envisions for them. She recalled the president previous interest to contribute to end the civil war in Liberia and make impact on the lives of Liberians.

She further admitted that since his days as senator of Montserrado County, it was the his fervent desire to provide remedy to the headache of WASSSCE fee, which he started few years ago.

“The president we are talking about today is a visionary leader, he wants better for the people, he has proven it by his record, and he’s a promise keeper, whatever he says he will do,” she said.

The Vice President continued, “Mr. President I want to add my voice to the millions of Liberians to say thank you, thanks for bringing live to the young people Mr. President, thank you for giving hope to our young people that they can go to any university that’s public university, and it’s almost free.” 

She’s confident that the President has a lot more to deliver to Liberians, if he’s given another term. “I want to use this platform if I have not said it to you before, to thank you for your work, thank you for your commitment, thank you for your vision, thank you for your inspiration because you inspired all of us to do what we are doing across the country,” he thanked the President.

At the level of Montserrado County, District #10, she believes the issue about they acquiring massive support in the district is resolved, as they are confident that the people of the district are willing to support their candidate, as well as the reelection of President George Weah.

“Go on October 10, 2023, and vote for honorable Josephine Davis, she is a woman of her word, she is a woman with foresight, she is committed and dedicated, she’s a change agent, and she’s hardworking,” she encouraged the residents.

According to her, if the female candidate and the President are supported by the people of the district and they become victorious, great things will happened in the district.

“So let’s shift a bit, if you give someone a chance to serve you and they don’t serve you, replace them with another person, nothing spoil, it’s not about friendship, so I want to remind you, the most important vote for you will be the President’s vote and then the district 10 vote, to ensure that the things you talk aboutas we visit you will be done,” she noted.

The Vice President committed herself to jointly work withMadam Josephine Davis, if she’s elected as Representative of the District, to ensure that issues effecting residents of the district are resolved. 

“The first thing I want to say to you in District #10 is that representation  means people should speak for you, people should know your interest, they should know what you want, and the work in the legislature is to transform your lives, it’s not for insult.”

She warned the residents about those she described as politicians who are not residing in the district, but are more skeptical about getting their support in the legislative election.

Moreover, the Vice President wished Liberians well through these electoral periods, and admonished them to avoid being distracted by the opposition. VP Taylor further appreciated members of the cabinets of their administration, as well as civil servants who have been committed to the President Pro-Poor agenda.
