In a bid to dispel mis and disinformation- following the disclosure of the preliminary results on Thursday, the Chairperson of the National Elections Commission (NEC) emphasized that the results are all correct
“All of the votes are correct, all of the percentages are correct. For the senatorial seats, all of the percentages are correct.”
Meanwhile the commissioner further provided that the Magistrate of Upper Nimba reported the disruption of the vote counting process at a precinct comprising two polling places in electoral district four, namely: Beolontuo Public School with precinct code 33258.
According to the NEC boss, the Police have since been dispatched to the town, but due to the difficult terrain, they are yet to return with feedback. As such, the Commission will provide updates to the public on this matter as the information is made available to us.
At the same time, the NEC boss revealed that the Magistrate of Upper Bong County reported a fire incident that occurred at the magisterial office. “He reported that the fire was started by an electrical shock in the Conference Room of the magisterial office. The fire was put off, and all the election materials are intact and tally is continuing.”
