-Tops 8 of the 15 counties
With about 48% of the total number of polling places across Liberia- figures from the National Elections Commission in the just ended presidential elections place incumbent President George Weah ahead of the 19 other contenders- with about 13,758 votes.
Day #4 of the pronouncement of preliminary results from Liberia’s October 10, 2023- general elections put the CDC Standard bearer and incumbent President George Weah in the lead- as he has so far accumulated about 415,895 votes, while his major contender, Joseph Boakai has secured about 402,137 votes from the fifteen counties.
Moreover- President Weah leads with about eight (8) of the fifteen counties (Grand Bassa, Sinoe, Rivercess, Maryland, Rivergee, Grand Kru, Grand Gedeh and Montserrado) under his control- while the opposition Unity Party standard bearer has so far gotten hold of seven counties (Lofa, Nimba, Gbarpolu, Bong, Bomi, Margibi and Grand Cape Mount counties).
