Liberia’s Vice President, Jewel Howard Taylor, has joined thousands of eligible Liberian electorate who are visiting the polls today, November 14, 2023, to maintain the current leadership or vote a new President and Vice President.
Like her Political Leader and Amb. Joseph Nyuma Boakai, of the opposition Unity Party, VP Taylor exercised her democratic right in Bong County, as part of the ongoing presidential runoff election.
Earlier today, Amb. Boakai also exercised his political franchise at Polling Place 1, MaGuire Catholic School, in Paynesville. Elaborating his confidence in the process, he says- “I’m satisfied with what I saw, I don’t know what is happening around but I hope all is okay.”
This was after an hour when President George Weah, voted at KendeJa Public School, Rehab Community, Paynesville, Liberia, November 14, 2023.
Upon exhausting his process, the President expressed confidence about his reelection. He admonished Liberian electorate to form part of the process, if their voice’s must be heard.
President George Weah finished first with a total of 804,087 votes, constituting 43.83%, in the October 10, 2023, elections.
He was followed by former Vice President Joseph Nyuma Boakai with a total votes of 796,961, which accounted for 43.44%. With a turnout of 78.86%, citizens engaged in the democratic process, and expressed their hopes and concerns for the country’s future.
