Before the inauguration of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai Sr., and Vice President Jeremiah Koung several women suggested that one of the ways through which the government can improve women’s empowerment is by providing job opportunities to reduce the poverty rate in the country, to ensure that women take some initiative to reduce the stress on the men.
The women also called the government of President Boakai to prioritize the rights of women by placing them in strategic positions in government that will enable them to protect the rights of their fellow women and that of the government therefore, as he continues with the appointment of his cabinet, President Boakai has appointed additional women in his government.
On Monday, February 19, 2024, President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. placed additional officials to several positions in government affecting ministries, agencies, and county authorities including the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry Of Health, Ministry Of Post & Telecommunications, Ministry Of Youth & Sports, Ministry Of Foreign Affairs, Ministry Of Public Works, Ministry Of Finance, National Insurance Company of Liberia,
Ministry Of Foreign Affairs, Liberia Telecommunications Authority among others. Out of the 132 new appointments, 39 females were appointed.
The Liberian Leader has appointed Selena Polson Mappy, Deputy Minister For Operations, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Miatta Dorley, Superintendent, Bomi County, Martha Morris, Assistant Minister for Administration, Ministry Of Health, Valerie Williams, Assistant Minister For Administration, Ministry Of Youth & Sports, Kuta Gbakolay, Assistant Minister For Youth Development, Ministry Of Youth & Sports, Jeneba Paasewe, Deputy for Operations, Ministry Of Post & Telecommunications.
Others appointed at the Ministry Of Foreign Affairs are Cllr. Deweh Gray, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, Cllr. Jeddi Armah, Deputy Minister For Legal Affairs, Cllr. Rosetta Nagbe Jahkollie, Assistant Minister For Legal Affairs, Naomi Gray, Assistant Minister For International Cooperation & Economic Integration, Karishma Pelham-Raad, Assistant Minister for International Organization, Saywah Gbar, Assistant Minister of Public Affairs.
Meanwhile, other women nominated by the President are Jocelia J. Tarpeh, Deputy Minister for Rural Development & Community Services, Margaret T. Sarsih, Assistant Minister for Operations, Julian Morias Johnson, Assistant Minister for Administration, Ministry Of Public Works, Mrs. Sarah M. Mulbah, Assistant Minister for Budget, Ministry Of Finance, Angela Bush Cassel, Commissioner, Liberia Telecommunications Authority, Nortu Jappah, Managing Director, National Insurance Company of Liberia, Marilyn Logan, Director General, Liberia Petroleum Regulatory Authority, Edmund Forh Forh, Managing Director, National Transit Authority.

Mrs. Comfort Bedell Dahn, Member of the Board of Directors at the Liberia Water & Sewer Corporation as well as Antoinette F. Dukuly, Deputy Minister for Administration, Ministry of Agriculture, and Mrs. Nancy Moye, Member of the Board, of Liberia Petroleum Refining Company (LPRC).
