Liberian leader, President Joseph Nyumah Boakai has charged newly commissioned public officials to be more determined to build Liberia in the discharge of their service to the country. “Let’s build our country. No other country can be better than yours in building this country. So, let’s be determined to build this country.” Boakai stated.

President Joseph Nyumah Boakai made the charge on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at the Executive Mansion when he commissioned ambassadors of Liberia to the international community and the Governor of the Central Bank of Liberia.

In his charge to the officials, President Boakai intimated that the mandate to serve was given by Liberians. Therefore, those in public offices are not there to serve the President but the Liberians in general. “When you take a public office, you not doing it for me – you doing it for Liberian. They gave me the responsibility to ask you to serve. If you don’t do it well, they will tell us.”

The President urged the officials to properly manage their office to the benefit of the people of Liberia – stating that it is a task that can be done to the best of their ability.

“We have everything here and we have to manage it well and we can do it well.”

President Boakai continued by charging his officials to serve with commitment and honesty.

“Let’s serve with commitment and honesty.

Whatever it is, the one God has designed for you will get it.”.

To those appointed as Ambassadors, President Boakai charged them to sell the positive image of the country and lobby for Liberia’s bid for a nonprominent seat at the UN Security Council to be successful.

Something he stated that is achievable.

“Now, you who are going to be Ambassadors, you have a greater task. We have put up a bid to be on the UN Security Council as a nonprominent member. Your role is to sell us.”
