Liberian President Joseph Nyuma Boakai has emphasized the need for national unity among Liberians. He believes that harmony is the foundation for enhancing national development.

Lighting the 2024 National X-Mass Tree at a festive ceremony held on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at the Executive Mansion, President Boakai urged Liberians to keep the country united for the common good of everyone.

He stated that the importance of togetherness invoked God’s blessings and merry tidings upon Liberians as they celebrate this year’s festive seasons. “I encourage all Liberians to embrace the values of love, compassion, and unity as we celebrate Christmas and look forward to the New Year,” he said.

The ceremony was attended by government officials, dignitaries, international diplomats, and citizens who gathered to witness the President’s inaugural tree lighting.

The beautifully decorated tree, adorned with lights and ornaments, stood as a symbol of hope and celebration. Lighting of the Christmas Tree is an annual activity often performed by the President of Liberia to symbolically usher citizens into the festive season of sharing, giving, and compassion.

The event concluded with musical performances and a festive atmosphere, setting the tone for a joyous holiday season.
