To enhance the communication infrastructure condition and social-economic development of eight of Liberia’s fifteen Counties, the People’s Republic of China on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, through its Embassy in Liberia turnover a solar power project to the government of Liberia through the Ministry of Post & Telecommunication.
The implementation of the project is geared towards providing a stable, reliable, clean, and green power supply for the central office as well as other eight counties post offices in Liberia.
Officially turning over the equipment to the Ministry of Post and Telecommunication, Chinese Ambassador H.E. YIN Chengwu described the Solar Power Project as a boost for Liberia’s local communication infrastructure.
He stated, firstly on behalf of the Chinese government and people, he would like to express his sincere congratulations to the Liberian government and people.
The solar power project is an important achievement of practical cooperation between China and Liberia. The implementation of the project will provide a stable reliable, clean, and green power supply for the central office as well as other 8 county post offices in Liberia, such as Montserrado, Bomi, Magibi, Bong, Nimba, Grand Gedeh, etc., and improve local communication infrastructure conditions, and help Liberia’s economic and social development” he noted.
Accordingly, he adds that China is committed to helping Liberia achieve economic and social development. He assured that they will continue to work with the Liberian government and people to strive for greater development of practical cooperation in all fields between the two countries and make positive contributions to building a China-Liberia community with a shared future.
“China and Liberia are good friends, good partners, and good brothers. Under the strong leadership and strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Joseph Boakai, China-Liberia relations are ushering in a new stage. As always, China will continue pursuing the principles of sincerity, real results, amity and good faith in China-Liberia relations, and jointly promote fruitful results in China-Liberia friendly, pragmatic and win-win cooperation” Amb. Yin concluded.
The program marking the donation of the solar system that will provide a stable, reliable, clean, and green power supply that seeks to benefit Montserrado, Bomi, Magibi, Bong, Nimba, Grand Gedeh, and Grand Bassa, was graced by Mr. Sekou M. Kromah, Minister of Posts and Telecommunications, Augustine S. Karpeh, Deputy Minister of Posts and Telecommunications, Mr. Paul W. Thomas, Director General of Posts, Nathaniel T. Kwabo, Director General of the Cabinet, and other distinguished officials and media representatives.
