H.E. Mr. YIN Chengwu, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Liberia has urged Chinese living in Liberia to be law-abiding and conduct business with Liberians for service delivery that will bring forth development.

“Fellow compatriots, the CPC, and the Chinese government have always been concerned about the well-being and safety of our overseas citizens. I would like to take this opportunity to convey the CPC and government’s care, greetings, and New Year wishes to all of you. China’s diplomacy is always people’s diplomacy. We wholeheartedly practice the fundamental goal of wholeheartedly serving our people. I hope all of you will abide by the law, conduct business in good faith, pay attention to safety, and mingle with the Liberian people in Liberia. The Chinese Embassy will continue to provide you with high-quality, convenient, and considerate services.”

Speaking Friday, January 24, 2024, at the Chinese Lunar New Year Reception, 

Ambassador YIN Chengwu reaffirmed China’s Commitment to work with Liberia for development during this 2025 Lunar Year.

He added that 2025 is the first year for the implementation of the outcomes of the FOCAC Summit, as well as the official launch of Liberia’s ARREST Inclusive Development Agenda and the County Development Agendas.

“In the new year, China will continue to work together with Liberia to open up a brighter future for China-Liberia relations. 2025 is the first year for the implementation of the outcomes of the FOCAC Summit, as well as the official launch of Liberia’s ARREST Inclusive Development Agenda and the County Development Agendas. We are willing to work with Liberia in line with President Xi Jinping’s six propositions on modernization and ten partnership actions, taking the implementation of the strategic consensus reached by the two heads of state and the outcomes of the FOCAC Summit as an opportunity to strengthen the deep alignment of the two countries’ development strategies.”

He narrated that China and Liberia will continue to support each other’s core interests and major concerns, enhance coordination and cooperation in international affairs by actively promoting China-Liberia practical cooperation to yield more fruitful results, and continuously promote China-Liberia strategic partnership to a new level.

The Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Liberia asserted that over the past year, the China-Liberia relations have developed at a high level, and Liberia has taken new steps in national development. 

He historicised that President Xi Jinping’s special envoy attended the inauguration ceremony of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai. Since taking office, President Boakai has firmly adhered to the One China Principle and actively promoted China-Liberia relations. 

Moreover, Ambassador YIN Chengwu

recorded that last September, President Boakai was invited to attend the FOCAC Summit, and the two sides announced the elevation of the China-Liberia relationship to a strategic partnership, marking a new stage in the development of bilateral relations. Under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, China-Liberia relations have become more mature and resilient, with more active exchanges at all levels, more fruitful results in practical cooperation, and more people to exchange people.

He revealed that in the new year, China will continue to forge ahead by fully implementing the 14th Five-Year Plan and laying a solid foundation for a strong start to the 15th Five-Year Plan. Asserting that in the face of a turbulent international situation, China’s diplomacy will continue to hold high the banner of peace, development, cooperation, and mutual benefit, and strive to promote world peace and the common progress of humanity.

The ambassador emphasized that in the new year, China will be committed to jointly building an All-Weather China-Africa Community with a Shared Future for the New Era and deepening solidarity and cooperation among the Global South.
