Electoral District #4 defeated representative candidate of the Collaborating Political Party, Jonah Togbah has pledged his support to incumbent President George Weah in the upcoming runoff election.

Hon. Togbah fell short by a margin of 80 votes to Representative Robert Flomo Womba who was seeking for second term in the legislature.  

The electoral race which was replete by intense competition witnessed a closely contested battle between Jonah Togbah and the Incumbent lawmaker as they were neck-to-neck. 

However, despite an ardent campaign and widespread support, Mr. Togbah ultimately fell short of victory by a razor-thin margin.

The move has set the stage for a potentially significant shift in alliances, as Mr. Togbah promised to rally his supporters behind the president’s bid for re-election.

Acknowledging the collective desire for progress and unity among his constituents, he stated, “While I may not have secured the mandate of the people, it is crucial that we rally behind a leader who embodies our shared aspirations and can steer our nation towards a brighter future.”

The decision to endorse President Weah came after extensive consultations with his campaign team and key stakeholders.

Highlighting the president’s accomplishments during his tenure, Togbah emphasized the need for continuity and stability in the face of ongoing challenges.

“Weah has demonstrated unwavering commitment and dedication to our nation’s development,” Togbah stated. 

He said supporting the president; Liberia can collectively work towards a prosperous and inclusive society.

Political analysts believe that Togbah’s endorsement could significantly influence the dynamics of the upcoming runoff elections especially in district #4 where he has a huge support base.

As the country eagerly awaits the runoff elections, scheduled to take place on Nobember 14, the outcome remains uncertain.

The decision by Togbah to back President President Weah has injected fresh energy into the race, underscoring the importance of alliances and the potential for a realignment of political forces.
