Monrovia, Liberia – In a bid to promote Liberian culture, movies, and entertainment, DSTV Content, in collaboration with Liberian film producers, has launched an exciting new giveaway show titled Behind the Scenes. The initiative, spearheaded by DSTV Content General Manager Madam Mary Williams, aims to celebrate Liberia’s creative industries while fostering public engagement with local films and artists.

The show, which will air on Hott FM, is designed to be a unique platform that combines radio programming with print media and online influencers. Partnering with outlets such as Women Voices Newspaper, Daily Observer, and prominent social media personalities, Behind the Scenes promises to bring fresh perspectives and insights into Liberia’s burgeoning film industry.

A Platform for Culture and Creativity

Madam Mary Williams, the host of the show, emphasized that the program is not about politics but rather about promoting Liberia’s rich cultural heritage and creative talents. “This is a space for filmmakers, actors, and artists to share their stories, challenges, and successes,” she said. “We want to inspire Liberians to support local content and take pride in our artistic achievements.”

The launch event, held yesterday, featured Dr. Clarice Kulah, a celebrated Liberian filmmaker, writer, and cultural advocate. Dr. Kulah, whose work has been instrumental in putting Liberian cinema on the map, spoke passionately about the need for Liberia to compete on the global stage.

“Liberian producers must focus on creating compelling and interesting stories,” Dr. Kulah said during her appearance on the show. “Our films should reflect our culture, history, and reality. This is how we can attract international attention and build a sustainable industry.”

Dr. Clarice Kulah: A Visionary for Liberian Arts

Dr. Kulah’s dedication to Liberia’s creative industries goes beyond filmmaking. As a cultural advocate, she has been at the forefront of initiatives aimed at nurturing emerging talents in film, dance, drama, and theater. Her efforts are driven by a belief in the transformative power of art to preserve heritage and inspire national pride.

“When you make a film, you’re not just telling a story; you’re showcasing your culture and history,” Dr. Kulah explained. “This is how we sell tourism, create pride in our identity, and inspire future generations.”

One of Dr. Kulah’s most notable achievements is her critically acclaimed film *Providence*, which was produced entirely in Liberia despite numerous challenges. The film not only highlighted the country’s creative potential but also launched the career of Korto Davis, one of Liberia’s brightest stars.

“Korto’s success is a testament to what Liberian talent can achieve when given the right opportunities,” Dr. Kulah said with pride. “Her journey proves that our artists are world-class and ready to shine.”

Building Bridges for Liberian Talent

Dr. Kulah’s vision for Liberia’s creative industries extends beyond individual success stories. She co-founded the Johnny Home Film Festival and the Liberia Film Awards, annual events that celebrate and uplift local filmmakers. These platforms have attracted international attention, with renowned figures such as Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD), Desmond Elliott, and Roger Bobb (producer for Tyler Perry) visiting Liberia to mentor local artists.

“We’ve had incredible support from international filmmakers who believe in our potential,” Dr. Kulah shared. “Their involvement has been a game-changer for our industry.”

A Call to Action

Madam Mary Williams echoed Dr. Kulah’s sentiments, emphasizing the importance of public support for local films. “The key to making our industry viable is getting Liberians to watch and appreciate local content,” she said. “When people see the value in what we create, it will open doors for more opportunities and investments.”

The Behind the Scenes radio show is expected to play a pivotal role in achieving this goal. By addressing the challenges facing the industry and showcasing the talent within it, the program aims to inspire a new wave of interest in Liberian cinema.

A Bright Future for Liberian Arts

As Dr. Kulah continues to champion Liberia’s creative industries, there is a growing sense of optimism about the future. Her initiatives have laid the foundation for a thriving artistic community, one that is poised to make its mark on the global stage.

“We are just getting started,” Dr. Kulah said with conviction. “The world will soon see what Liberians are capable of. Our talent is undeniable, and it’s time for the world to take notice.”

With the launch of *Behind the Scenes* and the unwavering dedication of trailblazers like Dr. Clarice Kulah, Liberia’s creative industries are on the brink of a renaissance. The country’s artistic brilliance is set to shine brighter than ever, proving that Liberia is not just a nation with a rich history, but also a hub of world-class creativity.
