Monrovia, Liberia — The Executive Protection Service (EPS) has suspended four of its officers indefinitely for unethical conduct related to soliciting money from guests at the President’s residence.

The EPS Administration has confirmed that certain officers developed the inappropriate practice of soliciting gratuities from individuals visiting the Executive Mansion grounds and during national security events. This behavior represents a serious violation of the principles and ethical standards expected of EPS personnel, who are sworn to uphold the law and maintain the highest levels of professionalism and integrity in their roles as protectors of VIPs.

In a statement, the EPS Administration emphasized its zero-tolerance policy towards misconduct, declaring, “We will not tolerate any form of misconduct within our ranks. Disciplinary measures, including dismissal, will be enforced against any officer found engaging in such activities.”

These actions are deemed essential to preserving public trust and confidence in the EPS, which is committed to maintaining high standards of service. While the misconduct of a few individuals may tarnish the reputation of the Service, the EPS also highlighted the dedication and professionalism of the majority of its personnel, who serve with honor and diligence.

The EPS reiterated its commitment to ensuring that all personnel adhere to the highest ethical standards, reinforcing the trust placed in the Service by the Government and the people of Liberia. The Administration encourages the public to report any further incidents of misconduct, stating, “Together, we can uphold the values of integrity and excellence that are the foundation of our work.”
