Monrovia- Madam Rochelle Woodson, a former Executive Committee Member of the Liberia Football Association, has been accused of being linked to a scandalous deal of money laundering and alleged involvement in a USD 6.5 million deal.
According to sources, the US government has arrested a Nigerian National Samson Olabode who is alleged, to be an accomplice to Madam Woodson, one of those eyeing the top seat ( Presidency) of the country football governing body in the 2026 elective congress.
Sources close to Madam Woodson disclosed that she has been embroiled in a massive Business Email Compromise (BEC) racket, causing losses exceeding $6 million to numerous American enterprises.
The elaborate scheme, entailing deceptive wire transfers and romance scams, has been under FBI scrutiny since August 2019.
it is alleged that Samson Olabode who is a Nigerian, has been accused of participating in a massive fraud and money laundering operation, and in a confession, he disclosed gaining his wealth by defrauding banks, law firms, and other businesses out of millions of dollars.
During his confession, he linked the Liberian football administrator, something which has prompted the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to draw the former LFA Executive Committee in the ongoing case.
The situation according to the report, has led to the freezing of Madam Woodson’s account due to her alleged involvement with Mr. Olabode Samson who has been sent to jail for eight years for Money Mule.
A money mule is a person who transfers illegally obtained money between different payment accounts—often in different countries—on behalf of others.
Meanwhile, when contacted on the allegation, Woodson said the information is false and misleading and it is only intended to damage her hard-earned charter she has been building over the years. He alleged that those behind the allegation are people who have an interest in becoming president of the Liberia Football Association.
“Our LFA is not for disorganized, unprofessional, unqualified, and incompetent people. We use our hard-earned resources to qualify ourselves and invest in football for over 25 years. We will not give our football presidency to a fly-by-night fake and so-called rich people.
At the same time, she has promised to host a press conference upon her return to the country later this month. “I am coming to Liberia for u and will have a press conference for you. You can tell ur father in law who is the speaker and ur favorite superintendent who is from Nimba to come kill me. Since I am having a romance with a Nigerian criminal that u know me to have”
“I am coming to tell my story about ur infidelity that u have been having from the day u got married” she concluded without calling a specific name of being behind the allegation in the media space.
