The Liberia National Police has charged and forwarded to the Monrovia City Court suspect Patience Mcgill with commission of the crime “illicit Trafficking” 

According to the Police, suspect Patience Mcgill who works as a Correction Officer at the Monrovia Central Prison action is in violation of Chapter 4, section 14.93 of the New Drugs Law of the Republic of Liberia Pending trial by a court of competent Jurisdiction. “The investigation has resolved to charge suspect Patience Mcgill with commission of the crime “illicit Trafficking” which is in violation of Chapter 4, section 14.93 of the New Drugs Law of the Republic of Liberia Pending trial by a court of competent Jurisdiction.” The LNP charge sheet stated.

According to the Liberia National Police, on Monday December 16, 2024, suspect Patience McGill was arrested by fellow Correction officer Vickie I. Watson, at the Monrovia Central Prison Compound when she was seen giving narcotic substance raped in fifty Liberian dollars to an inmate. 

Meanwhile, during the police investigation, suspect Patience McGill admitted giving the inmate fifty Liberian Dollars (350 00LRD) however denied giving the inmate the narcotic substance (Cocaine). “On Monday December I6. 2024 at I:00Hrs while on duty at the Manravia Central Prison. my boss lady Frostina J. Freeman) sent me to call two inmates from in the shop to collect their soup from the kitchen While at the kitchen I give one of inmates fifty Liberian Dollars (50:00LRD) to buy soup and carry it to my pekin who is also an inmate.”

In that process, one of my workmates saw me and complained to our boss lady. (Frostina J. Freeman), our boss lady called the inmate and she found fifty Liberian Dollars that I gave to him and six grams of Cocaine. I was arrested and turned over to the police”

Suspect Patience McGill Statement

But according to the arresting Officer Vickie I. Watson who is also a corrections officer saw the suspect Patience McGilI giving the inmate fifty Liberian Dollars ($50.00LRD) and a black plastic bag at that point she went and informed their boss lady (Frostina J. Freeman) who called the inmate and he was found with fifty Liberian Dollars (50:0OLRD) and a black plastic bag that Contained six grams of Cocaine. 

The Police charge sheet further provided that the substance found was tested at the Monrovia Central Prison and was proven to be a dangerous narcotic substance (Cocaine) In view of the above. The LNP asserted that the street or black market valued at the entire dangerous drugs and controlled substances stands at thirty five thousand six hundred Liberian dollars (LRDS35,600.00).
