…Says Speaker Chambers

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr. Bhofal Chambers, has called on the management of Firestone Liberia to do what he calls the needful in the recent death of a two-year-old girl in Harbel.

Little Miriam Dahn recently died as a result of falling into an open septic tank in the operational area of the company.

Speaker Chambers said the death of little Miriam Dahn is an issue of grave concern and that Firestone must shoulder some responsibilities, especially to the girl’s parents.

Dr. Chambers spoke Friday, March 3, when he presented one hundred thousand Liberian dollars to the girl’s family in Harbel, Margibi County.

It can be recalled that little Mary Dahn died as a result of drowning in the septic tank in the OS 58 community in Camp #2.

While wandering around the community, the child reportedly sat over the septic tank, which was covered with a mosquito net and old ceiling tiles, eventually causing her to sink.

Firestone-Liberia repaired the damaged septic tank by casting it on Monday, September 5, 2022.

For his part, the father of the deceased, Mr. Mark Dahn, lauded Speaker Chambers for the gesture.

He however informed speaker Chambers that much has been done on the part of the Firestone Management since the death of his two-year-old daughter.
