With less than a week to the House’s elections, Bong County District #6 Representative Moima Briggs Mensah has heightened the need for gender sensitivity in the leadership of the National Legislature, as the country struggles with gender equality.
She believes it is about this time that her colleagues at the legislature see intrinsic reasons in electing her as the nation’s next Deputy Speaker, considering that for 173 years, the Deputy Speakership has been like a tabu for women.
Representative Briggs sees herself as the best candidate for the post, and the only one that’s in the best position to break the obstacles and become the Deputy Speaker of the 55th National Legislature.
She says inclusion and communication will be the major foundation of her administrative procedure.
The Bong County District #6 Lawmakerasired a responsible leadership if she is entrusted with the post.
This will aptly consider accountability, transparency, and sincerity.
She said Liberians need to see a different legislature, be updated on issues, and know various lawmakers in the districts across Liberia.

According to Moima Briggs Mensah, the submission of the Legislative agenda on time is urgent and it requires to be done within three days according to legislation.
She claims elder legislative agenda submission beings legislative research for a better discussion in the interest of Liberian citizens, and time allotment for her companions necessary in her supervision.
She added that the leadership of Moima Briggs Mensah will take away worn thoughts of citizens that the legislators are involved in corruption.
Meanwhile, Representative Mensah said openness and disbursement of the national budget to all lawmakers is necessary for accountability in various districts across the Country.
She said the revision of national budget reports in her administration will be vigorous, her administration will strengthen the amendment of disbursement of funds, and the legislature will not do shifting without all the funds from the Minister of Finance, development, and Planning before the approval.
According to her, all documents, county development funds, and every other fund will last by the Ministry of Finance, development, and Planning before the 55th National will approve it under her supervision as a deputy speaker.
District #6 Bong county lawmaker said circulation of names in deputy speakership is not a threat to her deputy speakership ambition.
