…As Transitional Team vows to continue on the positive track

The government of Liberia has approved US$650,000 for the inaugural activities of the incoming government headed by President-elect Joseph Nyumah Boakai. Addressing the media on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the chair of the joint transitional team Samuel Kofi Woods informed the public that the budget of the committee has been approved by President Weah, and the full cooperation of the current government is in place. “We want to inform the public that the budget of the committee has been approved by President Weah, the process is fully accelerated and the full cooperation of the current government is in place.”
Minister Woods revealed that all agencies and ministries that should be working to ensure the full implementation of the Innauguration have been authorized to ensure the Innauguration is successful. Further adding that president Weah on December 18, 2023 president Weah approved all the recommendations of the committee which are intended to ensure the peaceful and smooth transition of the government.
The chair of the transitional team lauded his colleagues and members of the joint transitional team for collaborating with the team of the incoming government and for the level of patriotism exercised during the period of transition. “I want to thank my colleagues both from the great spirit of cooperation and patriotism.” Additionally, the transitional team will continue to live up to the commitment and values of Liberia in that Liberia will continue to remain a beacon of hope for African democracy. “We convey messages of commitment and sentiment of the decision and commitment that we will continue to cooperate with this process and that Liberia will continue to remain that great model and beacon of hope for the Walter share of the democratic consideration we have achieved.”
Minister Woods further stated that it is the commitment that the Boakai administration will continue to use and discuss the government agenda to ensure that the agenda is achieved. Meanwhile, foreign minister Maxwell Saah Kemaya has lauded the transitional for the level of work done and called on Liberians to be supportive of the government transition. Adding that the transition from one government to another is not a favor done to Liberia but an obligation that every responsible government must meet. “We are not doing Liberia any favor but it is our unconditional obligation that we have. There will always be a transition from one government to another because there will always be a time to transition from one government to another.”
Foreign Minister Kemaya further assured that the transition team will continue to update the public on the activities leading to the inauguration.
