…….Appeals for job opportunities for citizens of Electoral District Number Two
The women’s leader of Zone One, Hospital Camp Community within Barclayville City, is commending Representative Jonathan Fonati Koffa of electrical district number two, Grand Kru County, for prioritizing young people’s education through the provision of scholarships and for his significant contributions to the county’s health sector.
Elizabeth Koffa Suduail said she welcomed the lawmaker’s unprecedented development initiatives but made passionate appeals to Representative Fonati Koffa to create job opportunities through a concession or agriculture companies, as it is in electoral district number one.
She informed the gathering that the majority of youths within the district have acquired higher education in diverse disciplines but added that they are jobless in Grand Kru County, especially in electoral district number two.
Madam Suduail further emphasized that it was indeed necessary to bring that to the attention of Representative Koffa to work out modalities with his colleagues and the national government to remedy the situation.
The Women Representative of Zone One, Hospital Camp Community, speaking on Saturday, May 6, 2023, during a citizen’s engagement meeting with Representative Fonati Koffa on behalf of the community, applauded the government of Liberia through the county’s legislators for the enactment of Grand Kru Community College.
She said the presence of the community college has brought great relief to parents and the youths of Grand Kru County, but expressed regret over the lack of a structure to house the Grand Kru community college.
The Hospital Camp women’s leader said instead of leaders of the county reportedly distributing monies to individual communities, they should collectively work together to direct funds toward the construction of the college structure.
She indicated that, though it is the responsibility of the central government to ensure the construction of the learning institutions, individual lawmakers in Grand Kru also have a pivotal role to play in the development and growth of Grand Kru County.
Responding to the Hospital Camp women’s leader, Representative Fonati Koffa said the community concern raised will be looked into and encouraged them to get registered to vote come October 10, 2023, in the presidential and legislative elections.
He added that his visit to the district is mainly focused on increasing community awareness of the biometric voter registration process for eligible voters’ participation.
Representative Fonati Koffa maintained that the foremost priority of all Liberian political actors is to encourage citizens to take advantage of the ongoing BVR.
The biometric voter registration that started on April 21 will come to an end on May 11, this Thursday. It can be recalled that the Chairperson of the National Elections Commission, Mrs. Dividetta Brown Lansanah, told this station in a live interview recently that after the deadline for voter registration, there will be no extension in time, as she admonished citizens in the remaining nine counties in Phase two to turn out and register to vote during the October elections.
