(Dolo Town, Margibi County – The Ministry of Health says it is Saddened by fire outbreak at Dolo’s Town Comprehensive Health Center in Margibi County.

The fire outbreak occurred at the Dolo’s Town Comprehensive Health Center on Saturday evening, February 22, 2025, in Dolo’s Town, Margibi County. Community members, Firestone Fire Service, and the RIA Fire Department were on sight to stop the fire, and there was no casualty.

Dr. Catherine T. Cooper, Chief Medical Officer/RL, led an array of senior officials of the Ministry of Health to the site to do an assessment and take seize of the situation to ensure that health services are restored to the health center in the soonest.

Dr. Louise M. Kpoto, Minister of Health, has called on the Liberia National Police and the Liberia National Fire Service to launch an immediate investigation to ascertain the cause of the fire and provide a full report to the Ministry.

For immediate intervention, efforts are on the way to ensure that Out-Patient Department(OPD) services are restored to the community. Meanwhile, emergencies and cases requiring admission will be referred to surrounding health facilities, including the 14th Military Hospital, Duside Hospital, Unification Town Health Center, and the Cotton Tree Health Center among others. An ambulance will be assigned at the Dolo’s Town Comprehensive Health Center to assist with the referral of patients to the above-mentioned facilities.
