-Rep. Kolubah discloses
Barely an hour after he was nominated to serve as “Deputy Mobilization Lead” to the Montserrado County Campaign Team of the Unity Party, Representative Yekeh Kolubah rejected his nomination, says he will not campaign for the Unity Party (UP) ahead of the runoff.
Thursday, October 26, 2023, it was reported that Representative Yekeh Kolubah endorsed the reelection bid of incumbent Liberian President George Manneh Weah. This news shocked the public as Representative Yekeh Kulubah is one of the consistent vocal critics of the current administration.
But at a news conference on Sunday, October 29, 2023, Representative Kolubah refuted the report, and emphasized that his move to the CDC will never be possible because he can’t support a political party he has criticized and he believes that President George Weah might never forgive him because of how he has confronted him in the media.
Howbeit, he emphasized his commitment to vote Amb. Joseph Boakai comes November 14, 2023, but maintained that he will not campaign for the UP. This is because he believes scores of the major actors of the party are seeking their personal aggrandizement and they have on countless occasions disregarded his commitment to the party.
More to the appointment rejection- Representative YekehKolubah said he wasn’t informed by executives of the party before the appointment. With this, he’s demanding an apology from Amb. Boakai for what he has been going through at the hands of those he sees as government operatives.
Furthermore, the Montserrado County District #10 Representative says he has been overlooked by the Unity Party, despite the different ways he has been helpful to the party. He has affirmed his commitment to vote for Amb Boakai, but as he has done over the last few years, he says he will not support the Unity Party (UP).
In a Unity Party Alliance Campaign Press Release dated October 29, 2023, in
Monrovia, it was made known that the UP Standard Bearer having consulted with Sen. Abe Darius Dillon has appointed Representative Yekeh Kolubah as the Deputy Lead on the Montserrado Campaign Team.
