-Sen. Johnson encourages Boakai to prioritize Nimbanians

By Jerromie S. Walters

Enraged with the belief that they made him President, Nimba County Senator Prince Johnson has called on President Joseph Nyuma Boakai to prioritize his (Johnson) people in his (Boakai) ongoing appointment, says they are not willing to disgrace the devils they unanimously agreed to address from the bush.

In a Facebook post late Sunday, February 4, 2024, Senator Johnson wrote- “Don’t misinterpret my message to the President concerning the people of Nimba today. If it weren’t for Nimba and the electoral college of Liberia, my big brother, President Boakai, wouldn’t be president today. Therefore, Nimba needs to be happy.”

Johnson: “We are not willing to disgrace the devils we unanimously agreed to address from the bush. Mr. President, please listen and make Nimba’s children happy by appointing them in your government. Please take our recommendations seriously and prioritize our children; they deserve better.”

He went on to reassure the county’s commitment to actualizing Mr. Boakai’s political agenda, as well as the different reasons Liberians voted him (Boakai) to power. “The people of Nimba remain supportive for you to achieve what the Liberian people elected you to do. Mr. President, many Liberians lost their jobs and homes for you to be where you are today; one of them is your party Chairman Luther Tappia, including many others.

In his opinion, appointments of sons and daughters of Nimba are crucial as they will reflect on their surroundings.  “People are depending on them. If they are appointed, they will be able to help others who are depending on them for their survival in life.”

He continues: “With all I have said to you, Nimba, Nimba, Nimba, and make sure Nimba County children are happy Mr president.”

Nimba, with 307,254 registered voters, is the second-largest vote-rich county in Liberia.

Following the departure of the MDR from the CDC, the Unity Party (UP) gained strength in the county after they were endorsed by the MDR, through Senator Johnson.

With what has unfolded from the two last presidential elections in Liberia (2017/2023), many are already convinced that Senator Johnson is unarguably the political godfather of the county and it has what it takes to produce a president.
