The political leader of opposition Liberia National Union, Dr. Clarence A. Moniba has revealed that his participationin the October 10, 2023, elections is not to enrich himself, but for a legacy that every Liberian will be proud of.
“There are two reasons why people contest in a race. You are either contesting for money or for a legacy that will impact the lives of people. I am not contesting because of money, but I am contesting because I want to leave a legacy that will impact the lives of every Liberian positively and they will be proud of it.”
Speaking Thursday, October 5, 2023, at the official closure of his campaign activities, at the headquarters of the Liberia National Union on 16-street, Dr. Monibaasserted that if Liberia must develop, Liberians must vote for people that have the mindset of leaving a positive legacy that will have an everlasting impact on the lives of every Liberian when said leader is no more.
He added that having a mindset of leaving a positive legacy with the people is not about how old the contestant is, not about how long he being around, nor how many crowd he pulls.
But it’s about making the right determination before going to cast a ballot.
HE further asserted that he is the best person in the race to leave a positive legacy with Liberian after he is gone.
Therefore, he urged Liberians to change the perception about voting for long stay politicians, crowd politic, and too young to lead politic.
“Don’t be carried away when they tell you he is too young to lead, he does not have a crowd or he is just coming.
I am young but I want to build the best roads in Liberia and Africa at large.
That you will be proud of being a Liberian.”
At the same time, the leader of the Liberia National Union pleaded with Liberian, stating that if they have decided to vote another candidate, they should change their minds and vote for him, but not his contenders in the presidential race because he remains the best option.
“I have not come to ask you to vote for me. I am here to beg you to vote for me because we are left with only five days and some of you have another candidate on mind. I beg you, vote for me because I am the best option in the presidential race.
Moniba pleaded.
In furtherance, Dr. Moniba lauded his supporters for their support and the attitude of peace they have exhibited since the start of the campaign activities.
And admonished them to remain peaceful going to the October 10, general elections.
He further employed them to not to give in and support any act of violence that will lead Liberia back to the Dirk Days of war.
