Garraway Down Beach is situated in Trehn Statutory District in Grand Kru County, the Electoral District currently represented by lawmaker Nathanial Behway. According to the Grand Kru County Assistant Commissioner of Police, Elijah D. Whigs, the act was allegedly committed on Monday, March 15, but the suspect was nabbed by police authorities in Trehn Statutory District following a tipoff by community dwellers. Suspect Kaffie has been charged with Statutory Rape by the Women and Children Protection Division of the Grand Kru police detachment. The victim, name withheld, told police preliminary investigation at the Behway Police Depot that she and her peers were plaiting their hair when the 52 year-old man called her and told her to go to his house alone after plaiting her hair. She said: ’’I respected his request being an elderly person in the community and I went to his house and he called me in his room, telling me that I should not tell anyone about the thing he was about to do to me.” “He then pushed me on the bed and forcefully had sex with me,” she narrated. The victim told police investigators that when the man succeeded in raping her, she began to shout for rescue, due to the pain and severe bleeding from her private part. The accused admitted committing the crime during police preliminary investigation, but pleaded for mercy from the girl’s parents. The medical report from the Rally Time Hospital in Grandcess, Grand Kru County, confirmed that there was forceful penetration into the girl’s private part, and that she is no longer a virgin. Meanwhile, police have sent the case to court.
