Liberia’s Turiosim takes a new trend as International Surfing Association (ISA) unveiled that the prestigious international surf competition will take place in Robertsports, Grand Cape Mount County, under the joint efforts of the Liberian Surfing Association and the Liberia National Olympic Committee.
The organizers of the ISA competition, Madam Hesta Baker Pearson and Robena, emphasized the ISA’s status as the leading governing body for surfing worldwide, as acknowledged by the International Olympic Committee. The African Surf Confederation stands as the ISA’s recognized surfing confederation, dedicated to advancing the sport’s development.
The Liberia Surfing Association has been officially established since 2018 and enjoys recognition from the Liberia Olympic Committee and the Ministry of Youth and Sports. The association has played a pivotal role in promoting sporting events and fostering capacity building initiatives within the region.
Madam Hesta Baker Pearson and Robena shared their enthusiasm for engaging with government officials to elevate the event’s impact on surfing development. By welcoming 60 world-class athletes to Liberia, they aim to showcase the country as a premier surf destination and solidify its market value in the global surfing community.
Robert-sports has long been celebrated as one of the top 10 point breaks in the world, further enhancing Liberia’s reputation in the surfing realm. This recognition underscores Liberia’s unique position on the global surfing map, highlighting the exceptional waves that drew the competition to the country.
Moreover, Liberia takes pride in being the debut country for the Africa surf tour, marking a significant milestone in international surfing events. The spotlight is now on Liberia as it emerges as a top-tier surf destination, capturing the attention of the global surfing community.
Madam Hesta Baker Pearson and Robena are also confident that the International Surf to Rise Competition will not only showcase Liberia’s surfing potential but also pave the way for future advancements in the sport on a global scale.
