In her first media engagement since the occurrence of a recent incident at her home that led to the death of her niece, former Chief Justice Gloria Musu Scott has described the incident as an unending nightmare for her that she’s not sure she’ll overcome anytime soon.

Considering the magnitude of the attack and what it resulted in Cllr. Scott said she has been in a state of whirling sensation (dizzy) since the incident took place. “Right now, where I’m at, it seems like an unending nightmare”.

As a result of this, she said she has granted multiple interactions with the police, which she believes is completely contrary to a recent report about her refusal to cooperate with police investigators following an armed robbery attack that led to the death of one of her daughters.

The former Chief Justice maintained that, at no point in time, she refused to speak to police investigators, as is being speculated in the media.

In furtherance, she confirmed that on numerous occasions she had interacted with police investigators, including Minister of Justice Frank Musa Dean and his investigating team, after the accident.

“I had an encounter with the police officers, and they came and talked to me and left; the following day, another group of police officers came and talked to me; on Friday, after the week of the incident, the Minister of Justice and some of the investigators came to me and interacted with me, and the following week they wanted to interact with me, and at that time, nobody had told me that they wanted to interview other members of my house; the following week, taking into consideration what was happening, I informed them that at that point I needed lawyers”, she clarified.

Cllr. Scott noted, among other things, that with her experience and training as a lawyer, she’s schooled to the fact investigators must be allowed to conduct their investigations, especially when a criminal investigation is ongoing.

She believes the investigation surrounding the incident that occurred at the home should be conducted professionally.

On Wednesday night, February 22, 2023, tragedy struck the home of Cllr. Gloria Musu Scott after men believed to be armed robbers invaded her home, brutally killed her daughter, and wounded another victim.

Following said the attack on the home of the former chief justice, there has been speculation about the former chief justice’s refusal to cooperate with a police investigator.

However, Cllr. Scott provided that she has never refused to talk to investigators from the police but rather provided room for a comprehensive investigation to be done by the police.

The former Chief Justice intimated that when an investigating team is giving an update to the public, the way they speak is to secure the integrity of the investigation, adding that the way it has been narrated to the public is totally wrong.

Though she didn’t confirm that it was Varlee Telleh who has been accused as the alleged perpetrator of the crime, Cllr. Scott revealed that the person she pepper sprayed that night was the same person that killed Charloe Musu.
