……. Donates several assorted items to single mothers
Monrovia, Liberia: As the World observes another Mother’s Day, a non-profit organization in Liberia has donated several assorted baby items to struggling single parents across Monrovia.
Speaking to Newsmen about the initiative, Mrs. Princess Rebecca Guwor Vonyeegar, CEO/Founder of Kumba Foundation Inc., said the initiative is aimed at supporting and identifying with single mothers who don’t have the financial means to take proper care of their children.
According to Mrs. Vonyeegar, the initiative is intended to stand with mostly young Girls of Liberia who don’t have the means to provide essential things for their children due to the hardship they are facing.
“As a sister and mother my team and I through the Foundation have come to help these women that are in need. And every woman going through pregnancy and parental guide stages should be well taken care of and at the same time have access to babies’ needs,” she said.
Mrs. Vonyeegar thinks that no woman anywhere on this Planet should be denied access to proper care for a baby only because she is a single mother facing multiple life struggles.
She emphasized that there should be women’s groups like the Kumba Foundation to always identify with single mothers thus giving them hope again and that is exactly what Kumba Foundation is doing.
The CEO of the Kumba Foundation further mentioned that she takes the entire initiative personally since she is a soon-to-be mother.
She continued that “I feel so blessed by God to be privileged enough to provide these essential items as I will also do for my child. I love to give back. Being a mother is amazing but it becomes hard when your child is lacking those basic essential items, especially for mothers who are facing many challenges”.
“Here in Liberia, single mothers are faced with not only economic issues but also emotional and social problems and that is why we have come to help,” She concluded.
For her part, one of the beneficiaries, Ruth Nyantee a resident of Jallah town thanked Kumba Foundation for identifying with them in such a time.
“We want to say thank you for coming to our aid in such a time, it’s only God that will pay you back for all of this,” Ruth said
Ruth also said that it is the first of its kind to see a humanitarian group undertake such an initiative in Monrovia all the years she has lived in Monrovia.
“From my small days to now, I’ve never seen anybody doing such a thing for me. Again, I want to say thank you”.
Ruth Nyantee who spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries also called on well-meaning Liberians to immolate the example of Kumba Foundation and join the initiative which is intended to give hope to single mothers who are struggling.
