NIMBA COUNTY — Early Wednesday’s morning, troopers with the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA), and Court Sheriffs arrested a couple at their residence in the Bonnahsuah Compound in Sanniquellie City on various drug charges.
Troopers arrested Kermiah Kollie and his girlfriend Joanna K. Mantor. The arrest comes following the execution of a search warrant of their residence on Tuesday morning.
During a search of the residence, LDEA Officers assigned in Sanniquellie and Court Sheriffs suspected kush and marijuana drug substances, and other narcotics.
Kermiah Kollie is the son of former Nimba County Youth and Sports Coordinator the late Junior Kollie who is the caretaker of their Sunny Guest House.
Both were charged with possession of marijuana, kush, unlicensed transportation, sale, trading, delivery, administration, dispensation, and distribution”.
Explaining their ordeal, suspects Kollie and Mantor said a team of LDEA officers along with Court Sheriff from the Sanniquellie Magistraterial Court unknowingly visited their motel with a warrant writ to conduct a search and seizure for drugs, which they received a copy and gave them permission for such search.
Following a thorough search, the Liberia Drugs Enforcement Officers found the Kush and Marijuana in his and his girlfriend’s room at the guest house.
With such discovery, Kollie and Mantor were acknowledged of their fundamental rights, arrested and taken to the LDEA Sanniquellie Welcome Gate Office for proper investigation and are currently behind bars awaiting court’s trial.
