The Liberia Drugs Enforcement Agency (LDA) LofaCounty detachment on February 8,2024 arrested 25 years old Saah Tamba with 41 plastics of Kush and two(2) tubes of cocaine which in route to Monrovia.
According to the LDEA County Commander, Special Agent Kpehe Lomax, the suspect Saah Tamba was arrested at the Vezela Checkpoint in Voinjama district while traveling with the substance ( Drugs) to Monrovia.
The suspect is currently going through investigation by LDEA officers in Voinjama and will be forwarded to Court after preliminary investigation .
Special Agent Kpehe Lomax placed the street value of the drugs at (700USD) and Liberian Dollar (20133.00).
When contacted, the suspect Saah Tamba told news men that he reserve all comments until after investigation by LDEA officers.
The Suspect however confirmed that he was traveling with the ( 41) plastics of Kruch and two (2) tubes of cocaine, but he refused to say where he got it from and where he was carrying it .
LDEA agents in Lofa County are assigned at various checkpoints across the county despite the lack of logistics and low manpower .
In an interview, the commander for the County, special Agent Kpehe Lomax disclosed that the agency is challenged because of lack of logistics to combat drugs users and drugs sellers but they are using their professional skills to fight drugs users and drugs sellers in the county.
This is the Fifth times in less than six months LDEA officers arresting drugs traffers and drugs sellers in LofaCounty.
The county commander Special Agent Kpehe Lomax is calling on the New government of Amb.Joseph NyumahBoakai and the new LDEA director to empower them with more logistics and man power to combat drugs sellers and users in Lofa County.
