YIN Chengwu, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Liberia continued by admonishing Liberia to continue to commit herself to the one China principle, stating that the one-China principle is the fundamental prerequisite and political foundation for China to establish and develop relations with all countries.

“The one-China principle is the fundamental prerequisite and political foundation for China to establish and develop relations with all countries. From the very first country that established diplomatic relations with the People’s Republic of China, to the 183rd, namely Nauru, they have all made political commitment to adhering to the one-China principle, and included this commitment in political documents such as communities and joint statements on the establishment of diplomatic relations with China. And they have all severed the so-called “diplomatic” relations with Taiwan.

This shows that the one-China principle has the extensive support of the international community. It is where global opinion trends and where the arc of history bends. Also, the one-China principle is the anchor of maintaining peace and stability across the Taiwan Straits.”

He warned that the Taiwan question is an internal affair of China and allows no external interference.

Saying that it is at the very core of China’s core interests. And that there is only one China in the world, and Taiwan is part of China, and the Government of the People’s Republic of China is the sole legal government representing the whole of China.
