A Call to Action from Nimba County Representative Musa Bility

Nimba County District #6 Representative Musa Bility has underscored the critical role these institutions play in maintaining Liberia’s stability and integrity. As the nation faces a tumultuous political landscape, Bility’s message serves as a clarion call for decisive action to prevent chaos and uphold the rule of law.

Supreme Court Under Scrutiny

Bility’s remarks come in the wake of a recent Supreme Court ruling that has sparked confusion and unrest among the populace. He expressed concern that the interpretation of the ruling has been manipulated to serve the interests of various parties, leading to heightened tensions across the country. “The peace we all cherish is at risk,” he warned, urging the Honorable Justices to provide clarity on their decision.

“The people of Liberia deserve answers,” Bility stated, emphasizing that the Court’s silence amid growing unrest is a neglect of its constitutional responsibilities. He called for the Justices to interpret the law clearly and decisively, stressing that this is not merely a request for favor but a demand for the rule of law that is essential for the nation’s integrity.

Justice Minister Urged to Uphold Democratic Principles

Turning his attention to the Minister of Justice, Bility expressed his concerns regarding recent actions that contradict the principles of democracy. He recalled a meeting with the President and senior officials where the Speaker of the House made a dignified request for a constitutional resignation, aimed at preserving the dignity of the legislature. However, Bilityhighlighted alarming developments, including police actions against lawmakers and the withdrawal of security for the Speaker amid credible threats to his life.

“These violations are an affront to our democratic principles and cannot be tolerated,” Bility asserted, urging the Minister to advise the President to uphold the rule of law. He reiterated that the Speaker’s willingness to transition peacefully should not be met with intimidation or duress, warning that such actions only deepen divisions and erode trust in Liberia’s institutions.

A Plea for Unity and Justice

In his closing remarks, Bility made a fervent appeal to both the Supreme Court and the Minister of Justice to rise to the occasion. “This is not about political alliances or individual ambitions. It is about safeguarding the future of Liberia,” he declared. He emphasized the urgency of the moment, reminding both leaders that the eyes of the nation—and the world—are upon them.

“Our people are watching. They are yearning for justice and peace,” Bility concluded. “You hold the power to provide them with both. Do your duty. Uphold the law. Restore faith in our institutions. Save our nation. It’s your call.”
