The Anti-Robbery Unit of the Liberia National Police (LNP) apprehended five individuals on Thursday, October 3, 2024, in connection with an armed robbery incident involving a Chinese national named Joseph Xu, who resides in Congo Town.
According to preliminary investigations by the police, the suspects—identified as Emmanuel Johnson (alias Wallace), Alfred Lablah (alias Puyol), Junior Bundor (alias Prince), Malachi Eze (alias Promise), and Leemu Tabah—allegedly broke into Xu’s home in the early hours of Friday, September 13, 2024. During the incident, they reportedly held Xu and his wife at gunpoint, stealing an undisclosed amount of cash and other valuables.
Further investigations revealed that the same group attempted to return to Xu’s premises around 12:45 AM on October 3, 2024, when they were intercepted and arrested by the Anti-Robbery Unit. The suspects were found in two separate taxi vehicles, which were impounded along with several items, including a pin-bar, a steel cutter, and multiple keys.
The vehicles involved, one with the registration number TX-03201 and a Nissan sedan without a license plate, are currently held at LNP headquarters as the investigation continues.
