“The police officers went to the Luxury Hotel in Thinkers-Village and made illegal entry and arrested businessmen without probable cause and brought them to the headquarters of the Liberia National Police and made them take mob shot without any charge.

This action does not represent the direction of the LNP.”   IG Coleman said. Coleman added that despite the immediate suspension, he wants the public to be assured that there will be a detailed investigation to get to the root of the arrest.

“I’m not proud standing here to discuss this. However, we assure the public that there will be a detailed investigation and we will get to the root of the matter.”

In furtherance, he added that the Liberia National Police is a service for good with over five thousand officers, sown to execute the role and responsibilities as per the act that established the LNP. Therefore, he said any officer caught contradicting the established mandate of the police, will be made to face the investigation.

“The Liberia National Police is a service for good with over five thousand officers, sown to execute the role and responsibilities as per the act that established the LNP. Any action found on the outside of it that borders on criminality will never be covered in any form, and accepted.”
