-Lifts Rep. Kamara’s suspension

Monrovia, Liberia – The House Majority Bloc has decided to extend the suspensions of Representatives Marvin Cole and Edward Papay Flomo by an additional 30 session days, citing violations of suspension rules. The decision, made during a plenary session today, comes as the initial suspensions imposed in November were set to expire.

The motion to extend the suspensions was introduced by Grand Gedeh County District #1 Representative Jeremiah Sokan and received majority support from the plenary. According to the House, the extension was necessitated by reports that Reps. Cole and Flomo were seen around the Capitol Building during their suspension period, breaching the terms of their disciplinary action.

In a contrasting move, the House announced the lifting of the suspension imposed on Montserrado County District #15 Representative Abu Kamara. The decision to reinstate Rep. Kamara marks a shift in the ongoing disciplinary measures within the legislative body.

Meanwhile, the House Majority Bloc reaffirmed the continued suspension of several other lawmakers, including embattled Speaker Cllr. J. Fonati Koffa, as well as Representatives Dixon Siebo, Yekeh Kolubah, Samuel Enders, Jerry Yogboh, Jacob Debee, Muka Kamara, Frank Saah Foko, and Musa Bility, among others.

The suspensions are part of a broader effort by the House Majority Bloc to enforce discipline and maintain order within the legislature. However, the decision to extend the suspensions of Reps. Cole and Flomo has sparked debate, with critics questioning the consistency and fairness of the disciplinary measures.
