Montserrado County District #13 Representative Edward P. Flomo, District #14 Representative Abu Kamara, and Bong County District #3 Representative Marvin Cole have been suspended by the “Majority Bloc” of the House of Representatives for a period of one month.

The suspension, which the bloc says is a result of acts of misconduct exhibited by the lawmakers, was endorsed on Tuesday, November 19, 2024. This means that the affected lawmakers will forfeit their legally mandated benefits, including salary, for the duration of the 30-day period. The decision was reached unanimously, although three lawmakers chose to abstain from the vote.

In a related development, Montserrado County District #17 Representative Bernard Benson and Representative Zinnah Norman have officially joined the “Majority Bloc” as of Tuesday. There are also speculations that Montserrado County District #9 Representative Frank Saah Foko may soon align himself with the bloc.

All of the aforementioned lawmakers are affiliated with the former ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC).
